- The Kinotrip Young Jury
The Kinotrip Young Jury see five full-length films that address issues concerning their (fictional) peers, or deal with topics relevant to young people. The Kinotrip Young Jury Award is presented at the concluding ceremony, and pre-screening film introductions are featured within the context of the Kinotrip selection.
The Jury comprises five members of the 9th Kinotrip Film Club: Nadja Alymova, Alja Budin, Gašper Macedoni, Maša Mramor, Lenart Zalar Schroers.

KINGFISCHER AWARD
- Taki Mumladze
Taki Mumladze is an award-winning Georgian actress and writer known for her strong feminist voice. She debuted in Otar's Death (2021) and co-wrote and starred in A Room of My Own (2022), which traveled internationally. She wrote and performed in the play Aphrodite, starring alongside Ia Sukhitashvili. Despite its success, the play may be banned due to new anti-LGBT laws in Georgia. Currently based in London, Taki is dedicated to supporting women's rights and raising awareness of social issues through her work.
- Christos Nikou
Christos Nikou was born in Athens in 1984. A self-taught director, screenwriter, and producer, he directed his only short film, KM, in 2012. KM participated in over 40 international film festivals. His first feature film Apples opened the Venice Orizzonti section in 2020, playing at Telluride and Toronto that same year. Greece’s submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, Apples was released in more than 70 countries. Nikou made his English-language debut with Fingernails (2023), which he directed, co-wrote and co-produced with Cate Blanchett’s Dirty Films and Filmnation. The film premiered at Telluride and Toronto, and it was released worldwide by Apple. At this moment Nikou is working on his third feature film, Background.
- Darko Sinko
Darko Sinko graduated in film directing from the Academy of Theatre, Radio and Film (AGRFT) in Ljubljana. He directed several short films and documentaries, followed by his feature debut Inventura (Inventory, 2021), which premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival. The film won six awards at the Festival of Slovenian Film, including Vesna Award for Best Director. Inventura screened at numerous international festivals and won several awards. It was selected for competition at the 2021 Liffe festival. In addition to his work as an auteur director, Sinko has also worked as an assistant director, cameraman and editor on film productions.
BEST SHORT FILM AWARD
- Leonardo Goi
Leonardo Goi is a film critic and editor based in Italy. A staff writer and columnist at MUBI Notebook, his writings also frequently appear on Reverse Shot, The Film Stage, Filmmaker Magazine, and Film Comment. He runs and teaches at several prominent film criticism workshops around Europe, including the Berlinale Talents Critics Lab, the Critics Campus at Yerevan's Golden Apricot International Film Festival, and the workshops held at Lago Film Fest and FEKK-Ljubljana. As of 2024 he serves as lead editor of the Locarno Film Festival's daily magazine, Pardo.
- Anja Medved
Anja Medved (1969, Nova Gorica) is a director and screenwriter, renowned for her work as an author of documentary films, videos, and memory collection projects. She graduated in theatre and radio directing from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. She is the co-author of an extensive documentary output dedicated to collecting cross-border memories between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, her place of residence. Her work has been presented at film festivals and contemporary art galleries. She is the co-founder of KINOkašča / CINEMattic Institute, a film production and memory preservation institute.
- Niko Novak
Niko Novak (1973) works in film, theatre and music. He has worked as a production designer on feature and short films for the last twenty years. He also makes music independently as a singer-songwriter as well as a composer for theatre and film.

- Manca Cerar
Manca Cerar graduated in Media and Communication Studies and is currently taking a Master's in Cultural Studies. She is a cinephile and a member of the Domžale City Cinema team. Last year, she took part in the Venice Film Festival as a young juror in the Giornate degli Autori (Days of Auteurs) section and became an ambassador of the LUX Audience Award. She makes short films herself, focusing on visual aesthetics rather than the storyline.
- Jure Mavrič
Jure Mavrič has been following Slovenian and European film production for the last decade. A keen observer of human nature, Mavrič realizes his knowledge about the human condition is still very limited, but that film is a great help in filling in this gap. He perceives cinema as a blend of life’s reflection, visual poetry and the stuff of dreams. As regards other art forms, he has the longest and most cherished relationship with poetry, theatre and music.
- Erik Toth
Erik Toth is a long-standing Programme Director of the Art kino Odeon Izola, as well as a cultural events coordinator and organiser at the Centre for Culture, Sports and Events Izola. For several years he has sought to foster public appreciation of culture, especially film culture, in Izola and the coastal region. He has so far established three film education projects: for preschool institutions, primary schools and students; and co-founded the short film festival IZOLA SHORT. He regularly develops content that highlights the importance of the coexistence of two cultures in the bilingual coastal area through various film series, round tables or larger events held in cooperation with representatives of the Italian minority. And if it is not yet obvious – he is a film enthusiast.
FIPRESCI PRIZE JURY
- Igor Angjelkov
Igor Angjelkov (1974), graduated at the Interdisciplinary Journalism studies, and completed his master’s degree in media and communications at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He is actively engaged in the periodicals with many critiques and reviews in the fields of film, music, literature... In recent years, he has made a name for himself with reviews and posts on his blog site “Hero for a Day”.
Angjelkov is known as an author of the film & radio show „REDRUM” on Kanal 103 (1997-2003) and of the film magazine Filmopolis on national television Telma (2003-2014). He has been a member of several juries at domestic film festivals, and since 2018 he is the program director of the international film festival Kinenova in Skopje. His oeuvre includes three journalistic works in the field of film art: Film.mkd, which won the State Publication Award “Mito Hadjivasilev – Jasmin” in 2016, Filmski Grad (2018) and his latest work Filmotopia (2022). Angjelkov own publishing house ILI-ILI published seven of his prose books.
- Hamed Soleimanzadeh
Hamed Soleimanzadeh is a film critic, filmmaker, and lecturer at the University of Göttingen in Germany. He holds a Ph.D. in Art Research with a focus on Film Studies from the Nazar Research Center in Tehran and a postdoc in Film and Philosophy from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin).
He has served as a jury member for over thirty prestigious international film festivals and events, including the Golden Globe Awards, Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Gothenburg Film Festival, Istanbul International Film Festival, ZagrebDox International Film Festival and more. Additionally, he is the founder and director of the Abbas Kiarostami International Short Film Festival.
Soleimanzadeh has directed seven short films and has published hundreds of articles and several books on cinema, theater, philosophy, and culture. He is a member of the renowned International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI).
- Maruša Kuret
Maruša Kuret, a film critic and a member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), holds a master's degree in Sociology of Culture and French Studies. When not dedicating herself to cinema, she turns her focus towards feminism and gender equality. She publishes film reviews in the Ekran magazine and was a FIPRESCI jury member at the 2023 Fekk Short Film Festival in Ljubljana.
